    Any brake system changes need to be complianced by an engineer for legality as the GTI has the biggest brake package of all the polo setups so if you change it (other than just pads and rotors) you need compliancing.

    Stage 2+ Intercooler Carbon Intake Downpipe Swaybar DV+ Remsa.

    This wasn't enabled by default in my 12.5 GTI, and still isn't after a play with VCDS. I'd say maybe it's just a Vic thing, but that wouldn't sound right?

    Damn! Thanks for that! It is a bit silly though considering bigger brakes are 'safer' :/

    Are you sure? It should have been as part of the ECU programming. Have you actually hit the brakes hard enough to make the hazards come on i.e as hard and as fast as you possibly can?

    Just to clarify, it is ADR 28 that refers to external noise of a motor vehicle. 77dB while in motion for a spark ignition engine in a passenger vehicle, 90dB at rest.

    Well, you'd be surprised how many overlook the master cylinder and reservoir when they fit calipers with larger or more pistons.

    Also, brakes are an ADR item, and there are a series of tests that have to be conducted to show braking performance and control. No point in fitting huge brakes that lock the wheels with the slightest pressure, or having brakes that are not balanced front to rear.

    It was disabled already in VCDS, and not sure if I have braked hard enough to trigger it, no.

    Many who have been brought up in the days of no ABS or have never driven one before never really brake hard enough to produce the required deceleration.

    The other day I was going down a slip lane turning left from. The slip lane was around 100 m long. The 3 lanes going through the intersection were stopped, when all of a sudden from between two trucks 3 high school students decided to try and cross about 50 metres from the lights. I jumped on the brakes, but this being my first car with ABS, I did not jump on them hard enough so the ABS did not kick in, nor did the hazard warning lights. I managed to stop just inches (millimetres) from hitting them. It is something to get used to. If you have to stop in an emergency, just stomp on the brakes as hard as you can and let the ABS do its job. It goes agaist what most have been taught.

    Maybe we need to find a secluded spot and actually try our brakes out, however we would probably get caught for "hooning".

    By the way, you can always tell when you are in the education precinct of a city or town. It is the area where those who are our future (and their teachers/lecturers) don't seem to understand what the WALK / DON'T WALK signs mean, or have no idea as to why authorities put barriers along the middle of the road (to stop people crossing at other than the marked crossings).

    I can hear you, I also have the same feeling, that the civilization is getting dumber. Otherwise many wouldn't be so worried;
