My rims are powdercoated with regular powder and have zero problems.. I agree brakes get very hot but thats mostly on the track.. under normal driving I don't think there is any problem

To back up Polodave, my Aristos have been powder coated and seem fine being a daily. Can understand your concerns about if they were headed for the track though.

Ok, but I don't want to have to say 'I told you so' when it starts breaking down. The other thing is, powder coat is soft, much softer than paint and will lose its gloss if you use typical wheel cleaners, even strong carwash detergents can remove its luster. It actually scratches easier than paint also.

To be honest, brake dust comes right off with only warm water.. But that could be because the coat is very new. I guess this is one of those never ending discussions with both sides being right, and both have pro's/cons. That being said, there are reports on the web about a corvette wheel snapping in pieces after powdercoat, the rim was weakened by the baking. Therefore I wouldn't coat a Ultraleggera for example, just to be safe.

Yep, I can only lend my experience working for Australia's 3rd largest consumer of powdercoat and working to generate a specific formulation for a specific purpose

A little sneak preview until it's washed and I get some nicer pics.

So bad news for me. Got my TSI dyno tested today

Only making 65kw at the wheels and is running pretty rich

Either something is wrong or the tune isn't running anymore.

Did you do a before on the same dyno?
Does it feel like its lost power? If not I wouldn't worry about it, they all vary from dyno to dyno.
