They're 17" but I agree, they look good on the Polo.

I didn't install them myself, I didn't have the right tools to unbolt the front. But your more than welcome to come around mate

The car is sitting exactly 25mm lower at the front and 40mm lower on the rears.
It's almost a perfect height to how I want it. Once the springs settle a little more, i'll lower the front a further 5mm

Oh I meant see what changes it is going to coil overs. Are the stock springs an shock removed altogether or do the coil overs (which also have springs around the shock) add to the original setup?

Absolute perfect ride height height though, exactly what I would want on mine!!!!

Yep the entire stock system was removed altogether. Its a coilover system at the front, meaning coil over shock and seperate shock and spring on the rear.

The KW's are an awesome piece of engineering.. the car feels much more tight around corners and even handles bumps in the road better than the stockies.

the car looks fantastic! the drop gives it a much better stance. how are you finding the comfort level compared to stock?
btw hope you mind me asking, how much was it to get the KW installed?

Now I sound like a noob, but does that mean that a coilovers are nothing special because cars with McPherson struts have always had the spring over the shock?

What is the rave with coilovers then? I know they are adjustable and all (by means of a screw thread...I think) but what makes them so different to a normal setup. Or is it just the fact that the shock is matched to the spring because they are designed together. In that case how do they design a shock to match an adjustable spring? Now I'm very confused...

Now feel free to bag the s**t out of me.

Daniel, read the above post for handling compared to stock. Comfort level has actually improved from stock, whilst making it a lot more sturdy around corners. No complaints whatsoever!

$250 for installation although it should have cost me in excess of $300 for the time it took them

Nomad, the Polo have a macpherson setup (spring over shock) on the fronts only.

The rears are beside the shock, sitting on an adjustable spring perch.
The beauty with coils is that the shocks are designed to match the spring rate, meaning you get a much firmer ride quality as opposed to installing lowered springs to normal shocks. I guess you could choose shocks to match the springs, but I would imagine it to be just as expensive as a kit but without any sort of adjustment.

The KW variant 1 also has adjustable damper setting so it can be adjusted by means of a turning screw to three set points.. Sport, comfort and something else I can't remember.

I think that's the way it works anyway but I'm no expert
