This is of course when the wheels are straight ahead, if there is any diagonal weight transfer then the higher front damper rebound valving (which is required to control the higher spring rate) may result in a reduction in weight on the inside front wheel and hence a higher propensity to loose traction. A rear swaybar upgrade will of course help with the latter.

Bottom line, it might be better, but it may well be worse, it all depends on how sophisticated the damper valving is and whether the spring rates are complimentary.

I'm hoping to stop some weight transfer. Coilovers are adjustable so I'll stiffen the rear and keep the fronts moderate. I'll get some stickier tyres soon and go from there

My aircon has that sweaty sock smell. Its a new car and after a couple of months and with complaints from passengers I had to fix the problem. Last week used a can of Autoglym aircon sanitiser and put in a new Mann carbon cabin filter (credit goes to a Golf owner who did this and posted it up) Really happy with results.

The Mann cabin filter was heavier and thicker than the original I took out.

If they have a single damper rate adjuster then they will do bump and rebound in some predetermined ratio (commonly 1% bump & 2% rebound), which may or may not be what you need. More incremental bump on the rear and less incremental bump on the front would be the best compromise. Together with more incremental rebound on the front and less on the rear. But I've not seen any off the shelf coil over kits with that level of smarts, commonly they simply do both front and rear adjustments maintaining the same ratio.

They both had 20 points adjustable so firm rear semi firm front. Rides comfier than stock and traction seems a little better. I'll do some more playing around and see how it goes

Not sure if anyone knows if this is possible.. I installed some 6000k LED parkers to match the headlights I put in - however I get an error to check the side lamps etc... Guy at VW said that they wont do any damage its just the resistance causing issues.

Is it possible to somehow code this out so I don't get the error?

In addition, I need to replace my Fog lights and am looking around the 5000k LED - Does anyone know the wattage in the H8 bulbs to get?

You need to get canbus error free bulbs, they have a resistor in them that stops this error popping up.

Well finally got my VWR springs and HF carbon CAI - thanks to the guys at peninsula autohaus for doing the work!

First impressions on the springs. Slightly better ride than the car when it is in sports mode with the standard springs on a flat road, but dip bumps you notice it similarly to in sports mode. With the springs in sports node it is noticeably more firm, but not overly back breaking. Car sits noticeably flatter through corners than before. Less 'dipping' onto the outside wheel as you turn into a corner. Is good fun!

CAI I'm loving! The lag below 1700rpm (keeping in mind I have an APR tune) has completely gone. Much meatier mid range and throttle response has greatly improved. With the APR tune car makes 188kw/390nm according to HF website, the CAI increases the wheel kw by 13kw and 20nm. So the car would be making ~ 200kw+ at the fly and ~410nm+

opening the panoramic roof especially, but also windows, and there's a great sounding spoooool and Absolutely love it. Not as noticable within the car, listening closely with not a lot of traffic around you can slightly hear it, but it's good for when you're just cruising.

Can anyone point me towards led replacement bulbs for a 6C GTI? The yellow just ages the interior when they are on.

Heatht55 your car looks great. I really like the look of the CIA. Could you let me know how much it was and where you got it from. The same for the springs. I am in Melbourne also. Maybe we can catch up and talk cars at the next Melbourne chat/cruz meet if there is one soon. I have the harding eco and DSG tune and its great. We are always looking for more grunt and better handling.

I've used these since I purchased the car, never been an issue and are much brighter/nicer looking than the stock bulbs.
