Yes it's a DSG, my second DSG VW, love it and I have 100% confidence in it handling the extra power because I am the only one that drives the car.

The old downpipe has some heat shielding at top and I intend to wrap the top of the Milltek downpipe and install some shielding to deflect the heat downwards from the engine bay.

Used a 42DD spacer, no fault codes and confident will never get any. Thank you 'Primordial'.
No worries Brian - glad to hear you got it all fitted up!

Awesome combo with the aftermarket downpipe and JB1 - good choice! Enjoy the powah!

Edit: By the way, did you tune your Map 6 using logging, or are you just using defaults? I'm still running Map 1 on mine. I haven't delved into that world just yet. I found a handy tutorial on youtube the other day though. Thinking I might give it a try one day soon!

Also, I've heard of a few people running 10% E85 mix with 98RON (me included) to great effect. Bumps the octane up to about 99RON, which will allow you a bit more boost. I can definitely feel the difference, and the car runs a lot smoother. If you have a United fuel station nearby, you should consider it.

George suggested the settings to suit my car for map 6. I think your best idea is to read through some of the 200 plus pages of the US Golf forum to get an idea on map 6 settings to suit a Golf R with downpipe, there is also a separate thread for map 6.

10% E85 gives a touch over 100 ron but reduces the fuel weight by around 2%, be careful as that means a ~2% leaner mixture, so check the A/F ratios.

I upgraded the rear engine mount bushing to a 70 durometer Superpro item. This made a very noticeable difference to the way the car puts power down, it feels far more direct and not like the motor is throwing itself around the engine bay. I highly recommend installing one.
