GTI6R from the forums came over yesterday and sold me his cousins Harding Performance CAI!

They installed it for me and showed me how to take it out for cleaning.

    Great guys! Thank you!

She already went well with the Stage 1 tune, and now she's even better with the CAI! Very happy!

    Stage 2/DSG tune 2014!

If your talking about the above post - that's a cold air intake.

They come in various shapes and sizes, but the general idea of them is to get cold air from the front of the car into the engine quickly - usually with as little piping and bends as possible to keep air flow up.

Most use foam / cotton filters which have better flow compared to paper filters without sacrificing filtration.

Cold air is more dense and contains more oxygen which is more fuel to burn.

In a stock engine the gains would be minimal 10nm / 2kw at the crank at best. They are really designed for engine tunes which take advantage of the increased air flow.

Not quite right there mate, yes they increase airflow with the filters but I am yet to see a single after-market filter provide EQUAL, let alone better filtration than from the factory. It's a trade off, more airflow (which as you correctly pointed out, is only really beneficial to those with an ECU tune) with less filtration....

Anyone like these wheels? I'm seriously looking at them. Can anyone tell me if they'll fit with the tyres that are on my car already? I have the standard 17" Denver's that came with the car.

Stock tyres will fit. Just as long as the new wheel you buy isn't a bigger/smaller diameter it'll fit!

Yes the tyres will fit no problems at all. If you like the wheels then don't be concerned about what others might think. You will always get positive and negative opinions about wheel choice.

Just make sure you get the correct offset so you don't end up requiring spacers.

I think offset is 42 on these wheels what does this mean for me?
