IMO it's not useful to stay till red zone as they do on the videoclip, is profitable change the gear up a little earlier...

In S the gearbox will only shift at redline unless the throttle is being really lightly feathered.

Stage 2+ Intercooler Carbon Intake Downpipe Swaybar DV+ Remsa.

    Ah right, that is S...
I don't like S or D, except D for city drive, I always use manual...

Anyway also in D or in S the steering wheel paddles are active, so you can choose when shift...

Yeah, i often forget that they work, then when in D I wonder why the damn thing isn't upshifting!

Interestingly, I have found that when in S, if you activate cruise control, the car gets into 7th as quickly as it can yet when you deactivate it, it drops back to a gear that puts the revs right back in the fun range

Good info, I didn't know that...! I'll try tomorrow
What I really don't like, but probably we are definetively OT on this thread , is the kick-down, specially when I'm in manual: why the car can decide to down shift if a completely push the right foot? If I want a progression from 4.000 in manual with full gas I can't...!
    Make me angry!!

how about this: some of the bluemotion drivers over here have taken their cars to the german autobahn, top speed: 173 on TomTom.. BUT: when accellerating with CC, top speed: 193 on TomTom!

Some 1.2 TSI drivers tested this: simular results

So the cars are definately limited on top speed, and the CC is apperently a way to bypass this system
