Now as I have been looking into brake fluids I have come to question why on hell the fluid they have put in is GREEN. I can't seem to find anywhere that states the DOT 3/4/5.1 standard for brake fluid been green. Only yellow, amber, or clear (could also be a blue here and there). Purple is reserved for DOT 5.0 spec (silicon not glycol). What I did find out is that green could be used for mineral oil brake fluid which cannot be used in glycol based systems.
Brake fluid is time based every 2 years. Maybe your mileage lines up with the time. I'm at 120,000km & only just had my 3rd brake fluid flush.

Have you thought to simply ask the dealership for a look at the drum of brake fluid?

If you want to do your own the Motul rbf600 is great but about $30/L & it should be changed every 12 months. Also Ferodo 5.1 (black bottle) & it's a bit cheaper - about $20ish.

Castrol Super Response Dot 4 (silver bottle) if you want cheap ($10) & cheerful but good.

I have no idea how these fit with glycol or mineral based fluids

Ended up buying some Motul Dot 5.1 Brake fluid and some yellow vinyl for my foglights. Surprisingly the Motul Dot 5.1 is better at been an all round performance brake fluid than the RBF600.

The Motul RBF600 brake fluid does have a very high dry boiling temperature (312 drgrees C) but it is a thicker brake fluid for the most part which is not that good and why it only conforms to the dot 4 standard (at 1750 mm2/s).

The Motul Dot 5.1 on the other hand has a top temp of 272 degrees C but is much thinner at 820 mm2/s. so in a nut shell not as high temperature but better response from the braking system - especially the ABS control pump.

If you get genuine ones they don't need a decoder as they call it (its just a resister in the wire)

There the Same price you paid from bold sport if you hunt around. Every one I know with a polo/ golf has put them in and not one has had a error.

It's true. OEM led licence plate lights don't throw up an error as they are on a PCB which has all the resistors and what not. I picked a pair for about 43$ delivered from Tuning Fanatics on eBay.

Having said that I had some Philips LEDs in there and they worked fine as well without error, the only reason I changed is because LEDs are very directional and the way the holder sits, it didn't shine much light down.

I don't think error checking is enabled for the licence plate lights.

I know what you mean about directional. I have all Phillips through my interior but there t10 dosnt shine sideways for the boot. I got a 6 led of eBay that faces out but it's no brighter then stock. Really do need a better boot light. Might cut a bigger hole and put a number plate light in.
