Yeah, what the photo doesn't show is the roughly eight 50mm cracks radiating from the impact point, at least two of which go all the way to the edge of the screen. It's well and truly stuffed and sounded like someone discharged a firearm in the passenger seat when it hit.

I'll certainly be requoting my insurance, especially since I'm moving to the country next week - up your way actually!

Lord and behold...VW North Shore failed...yet its sister service centre The Denlo group have diagnosed and found the clutch slipping / shuddering...parts to be ordered and installed alongside recall campaign 35C1...

Big thank you to Barracuda without his contact / reliable service tech / enthusiast I'd be up the creek of incompetent poo's without a paddle...

Manual box or DSG? Good to know they have recognised the issue.

Actually the campaign number you referenced is for DSG's isn't it.

DQ200 7 Speed DSG, so far the manual box has been faultless unless I'm mistaken?

Its nice to meet a technician who takes pride in the brand / quality...if only some other techs would do their job with similar gusto...

The senior technician at Denlo (Ken) is a really nice guy! You're spot-on, he really takes pride in his VW's and goes well out of his way to ensure that any customer concerns are fixed. If only all dealerships were like this!

They seem to be few and far between (decent technicians). Nothing a new clutch pack kit wont fix then?
