Sure is. By the time the car gets to you, it's spent 1 month+ sitting on a ship with salt air and all that, plus another 1 month+ sitting at docks and holding grounds, usually in industrial areas etc. So you should definitely clay the car before doing a sealant. You'd be surprised how much comes off into the clay bar

Edit... oops, Frostee got in first. I'd do the same, but swap the dishwashing liquid for APC

Geez, I see I am very ignorant when it comes to detailing!

So, presumably the sealant replaces the wax? Will the sealant last longer? How often do you guys do all of this work on the car?

Pulling into the service centre today to have my dashboard rattles sorted out (plus 6mth service) and got reversed into by someone who advised me that they didn't have the "reversing warning beep thing" in their car....or eyes apparently...

Great way to start the week.

You have got to be kidding. This is why some technologies need to be removed from cars
Esc, another example. Give an idiot a car with esc on a slippery, potentially fatal road loop and they will look like a hero, take away esc an they look like $2 mince on the shelf at Coles.
Some people just need to be removed from the gene pool....

I am so sad for you. At least you've identified the other driver. Here's hoping for a prompt repair

I agree dude. This is just sad. I had two accidents with my first car, both times stationary. **** happens, just be glad that a) no one got hurt and b) no out of pocket expense for you. Get a loan car and put that on their insurance while you're at it too.
