I consistently get 4.3 l/100km in my tdi, mix of urban non urban. Most out of peak hour admittedly. Usually get around 980km from a tank, give or take. I bought pre facelift specifically because the diesel will be no longer. Shame on VW Oz.

I got 4.2 average on the way to the airport and back last week in the TDI. Jumping back into the Megane and looking at the avg fuel consumption gauge is frightening.

I spoke with 4 different dealers today in Sydney and they will start to get cars from 15 August and they are allowed to deliver from 19 August.
Trying to decide between silver grey or blue. Our Touareg we have at the moment is grey.

Wonder when they will confirm release date for the Polo GTI? Have heard 1st half 2015 which works for me. Will be the bargain replacement for my written off R (and stable mate to our new Alltrack)

The Alltrack's a really solid tried and tested all round family wagon great for the snow and soft roading, gutsy diesel engine (130kw/380nm), reliable 6 speed dsg, good fuel economy about 6.5l/100km, conservative but smart soft roader VW looks, well specced in 'base' trim with everything you need. We're losing a company car Alltrack after 2 years 45k km faultless driving so a simple choice. Am looking forward to the 1.8l turbo coming with the next Polo GTI tho

Just seen my third one, this time I could manage a picture. Parked in the Sutherland commuter car park. Surprised others have not spotted them as yet. I suppose it is a very mild update visually. Notice the surprise in the bumper!

Just had a phone call from the pre-delivery person from the dealership, first it was the usual dribble congratulations on your new car purchase, blah blah stuff. She then proceeded to say "By Law" we have to tell you about Environmental Protection... I interrupted and questioned the "By Law" part of the speech and she then went on to talk about somebody who went to Bali came back with bird poo damage her paint... I then interrupted again and questioned the "By Law" and she went on again about the Bali lady, I stopped her and said that the "By Law" does not sound correct and is it actually an internal procedure - she then said she would call me back and I said please don't waste my time again and please tell me why you are calling me now, she ended the call. I really get pissed off when sales people go on about these things and this time it was boardering on misleading and deceptive conduct. I called back the sales person who looked after me (also brought the Touareg from him a couple of years ago) and brought it to his attention that the dealership needs to reconsider their sales approach. I would have not had any problems if she said "It is our company policy" instead of the emotive "By Law". Rant finished...

I just saw two vehicle trucks carrying face-lifted Polos turning on to the Pacific Highway from Ryde Road at Gordon. There were quite a few red and white ones. They look great!
