VW WC Polo 6R preferred/recommended Detailers, repairers, wheel repairs etc.

Awaiting an email from David from Reflect Eflect North Parramatta for my 50/50 shots and full body shots before/after to show you but since picking my car up from the workshop all i can say is...holy space balls.

Got Stage 2 Paint correction (paid by garbage company after bin scratched rear bumper while eating brekky!!!) and also Opti-coat (approx 5 microns rated at 9H strength = same strength as diamonds after a week from treatment).

His finish was superb, he treated my car as if it was his own and made sure i left satisfied with the work he carried out.

    Stand by for photos!

With my car as it was just under a year from build date so i purchased the lifetime opti-coat warranty ($95) this covers if any defects are found in the opti-coat for the life of the warranty (lifetime means until the car dies in the butt, or 5 years if your car is over a year old).

Hope to post some pictures soon!

Wheel repairers in Sydney: I Haven't used this service before however i have found these 2 to be the most recognised online/seeing.

That is so sh*t that they give us cars like this, mine still has monster scratches on the driver's door which I can't bring myself to fix yet as I still get livid about it. When I picked it up after the second scratching, sorry, "detail....." there was a white golf GTI parked behind mine and the bonnet on that looked like someone had gone over it with sandpaper!

Well Gavs the total cost to do all this was $650 including a lifetime warranty.

Shot an email off to VWA with photos showing them what there cars should look like when picking it up at the delivery stage.

I'm very happy and now i have been offered a complimentary optimum detailer to keep the car tip top

I only paid $330 as the garbo company paid the detail xD

Best coin i have spent on the car, and because your car is white you would only need a stage 1 rather than a stage 2 thus more saving

If your interested search for optimum accredited detailers you won't look back

I do all my own detailing anyway, might have to take it up again as a side job to help pay the bills again!

Hey, I plan to get the local opticoat people to do a layer on my car after I pick it up so it can look new for as long as possible.
    My Polo is Pearl Black.

If I just pick it up from the dealer straight away, do I need more than the standard opticoat package?
This is what D n S Auto offer for the Opticoat protection package (I believe they are the only people in Adelaide who do opticoat).

    1) Full exterior wash including wheels.
    2) Claying done on exterior
    3) Isopropyl wipe down to get rid of dealer wax
    4) Opticoat applied

They also do separate Stage 1 and Stage 2 cut and polish, but would that be required if I just picked it up from the show room?
    Stage 1:
    Exterior
    1. Exterior Wash of Paintwork
    2. Wheels & wheel arches washed & degreased
    3. Exterior Trims & Mouldings Cleaned
    4. Mirrors Cleaned
    5. Tyres Cleaned & Treated
    6. Paintwork clayed to remove contamination
    7. Mouldings/plastics covered with tape before cut & polish
    8. Stage 1 cut & polish - removes 50 - 70% of scratches
    9. Paintwork hand polished with 1 coat of premium Victoria Concours Carnuba wax paste

    Stage 2:
    Exterior
    1. Exterior Wash of Paintwork
    2. Wheels & wheel arches washed & degreased
    3. Exterior Trims & Mouldings Cleaned
    4. Mirrors Cleaned
    5. Tyres Cleaned & Treated
    6. Paintwork clayed to remove contamination
    7. Mouldings/plastics covered with tape before cut & polish
    8. Stage 2 cut & polish - removes 90 - 95% of scratches
    9. Paintwork hand polished with 1 coat of premium Victoria Concours Carnuba wax paste

Apart from a different percentage quoted for scratch removal I don't know the difference between stage 1 and stage 2? What would you guys recommend? Opticoat is 545, or 695 including interior fabric protection. Stage 1 is 300. Stage 2 is 480.

I don't mind shelling out extra money if I have to, but never having had a car detailed before I don't want to spend extra money when it won't make a difference on a brand new car.

Sorry for long post, thought I'd give as much info as I can. Or if you guys have had experience with other car detailing franchises/workshops in the Adelaide area other suggestions which are better than/same as opticoat will be much appreciated.

    Regards,

David has his email on the reflect effect web site, he is more than happy to offer his professional opinion let him know that Hail22/Christian referred you and he will endeavour to answer your query in full mate.

I am only good at maintaining the look/quality of work once the professionals do their jobs (low PH items, quality brands tested over and over in all conditions - Swissvax)

All of this stuff is covered in the detailing forum

But in relation to those stage 1 and 2 packages, the difference is the amount of time required in the polishing stage, and that's reflected by the price. Obviously there is some overlap between them and the Opti-coat package, plus there final step in both stages completely prevents the Opti-coat being applied anyway...

Effectively you need to just take delivery of the car, and then take it to the detailer and decide between the both of you about IF it needs polishing, and if so, how much is required. You may need to just enquire as to the "hourly labour rate" for polishing, and an estimate of how many hours required.
