VW to offer retrofit LED daylight running lights

Volkswagen offers retrofit LED daytime running lights for Polo and Golf*|*PoloDriver

What do you all think? Although prices and availability are yet to be announced do you think it looks OEM enough for the Polo? Or is it in danger of looking too much like the aftermarket LEDs falcon and commodore drivers stick onto their rides?

Based on what i've seen re options pricing on things such as rear parking sensors, I wouldn't expect much change out of $500. VW will Dealer will be rubbing their hands together for people to take this bait

regardless of price, if its the same DRL LED type as the Golf R's and manufactured and signed off by VW, then it would be a quality item.

Agreed, possibly if its slightly different to the one in the picture as that is from an aftermarket car kit company. Will be interesting to see what the VW mock up looks like.

Don't like them there. VW should have added them when they designed the 6R Polo, e.g. add them inside the head light.

It looks cheap IMO. If they want to retro fit it, hide it behind the grill where you don't see the extra black plastic add-on.

Hmm, not sure I'm a fan. But the way the LEDs appear recessed into the black plastic creating depth, perhaps the front bar will be cut for the unit to be installed, so it may not stick out. I think I'll need to see a pic of the entire car before passing judgement.
But a much cheaper (and still decent) alternative to retro-fitting bi-xenons.

Now the air splitter in the pic; that has my attention...

Yes it really is taken from an aftermarket kit company...VW Polo 6R RS Body Kit RS had designed this well over 6 months ago also it was discussed in the aftermarket section of the forum some time ago.

And Smacca i am with you, the front splitter and also skirt splitters look hot.

check the link for the complete kit.

They look good. Recessed into the bumper - if the images are accurate and actual, rather than computer/photoshoped.
I had contacted the kit company four months ago and they said they would not be selling the lights separately ... So don't know if they did a deal with the big Dub.

Has anyone removed their polo bumper to see if there is a cut out in the moulding around that area ?
