Anyone got an option changing from a 215x40x17 to a 215x45x17? Change the speedo a little but many more options in this size....

Speak to gavs, he has done this. Aside from the speedo, it does give u a lt of different tyre options.. Gavs went the s02 or similar I think (great tyres!!)

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

By all means use a 215/45 but also understand it's a significantly larger overall diameter tyre of at least 20mm. Most tyre brands vary slightly but in general that's the difference over the 215/40.

    215/40 = 603.8mm
    215/45 = 625.3mm

If you are lowered and/or running spacers then be prepared for some rubbing with the higher sidewall tyres.

Cannot recommend the RE002 from Bridgestone enough, extremely good handling in the dry, good handling in the wet, great in corners and pretty good wear rating.

In the noise sector, the RE002 would be 2nd in front of the Yokohama Advans but the Michelin Pilot Sport 3's take the cake for road noise, which isn't that bad at all! (Drove on them for 10 months before selling the car, no complaints here).

I'm running the P Zeros on my Polo. Pretty good handling in dry/wet conditions. However it's on the noisier side.
