Yeah no s**t!

Oh well, gives me more time to fart-arse around in getting the golf pristine before I sell it

In case anyone knows of anybody looking for a 99 mk4 golf manual with new timing belt, serpantine belt, full service just done, new brake fluid etc, new coolant sensor going in, 155,000kms on the clock, KYb adjustable suspension.... aw hell, if anyone knows, let me know

Just got an email from the dealer saying my Feb '11 ordered GTI now has a "build sequence number" but he couldn't say when manufacture would
start. He still estimates delivery between Oct '11 and Feb '12. Sigh....

But great to hear some of you are already on the boat! Even makes me exited. Can't wait for pics and first drive reviews!

Just got my VIN today!

The good news!... my Polo GTI is already underway... but not on the Taiko, as I suspected, but on the Manon due in Australia on the 24th of April!

The bad news.... it docks in Fremantle... I'm in Brisbane!

I wonder how it will take to cross the continent... (and what condition it will arrive in)... I was told to expect delivery mid-May.

Unless what RknRob meant was that his car was a "dealer swap" with a Perth dealership. In which case, it will get unloaded in Perth and then be transfered by truck/train to his Brisbane dealer....

Edit.. heh, posting at the same time.
I'll leave this here anyway since some people do purchase cars from interstate and this is the situation which occurs in that case...

Are you sure? If the ship manifest says it will be unloaded at fremantle, it will won't it?. Then it is up to our local car carriers to transport the vehicle....
Rokin Rob - you could always ask the dealer. i would be interested to see what they say as mine is going to melbourne and i'm in sydney.

Corey_R, will the undergo compliance at the port of landing and then trucked directly to the dealer? Or will they be shipped via road and undergo compliance after?
