I was going say that I wasn't that desperate, but dammit, I did the same thing!! it is cool how you can look at all the boats on the water at that instant though

Well I heard this week that there's no need to track my order as I've been able to grab a GTI demo instead. Extremely happy now ... should have it next week then off to APR ...

Tracking is all part of the fun, although frustrating, much prefer to buy it straight out and the car be here like your demo

Post some pics bnescooter when you get it. What colour and config does it have?

Frostee and Payno, the Don Pasquale just docked at Southampton so if you're not showing on it yet, I'd say that you're on the Toreador. my concern now is that if there is that many cars going out that your sat on the dock for a couple of weeks, mine and GTI JOE's might do the same! Toreador mind you isn't stopping in Le Havre so it seems that based on the other tracked vehicles, the shipping schedule of Toreador is more consistant. Don Pasquale is a day behind too...

Bremerhaven is the largest car port in Europe. Cars will regularly sit on the docks for a week or so. Then they've got the lovely sea air on the voyage for 2 months. Then they sit on the dock (or near the dock) in Australia for a few weeks.

This is why I laugh when people call the "Dealer Delivery" the $3,000 car wash (Not that the wash is the only component of the dealer delivery). Most people don't realise how bad the car looks when it arrives. We've had forum members come on to tell us that they've broken down in tears when they arrived at the dealership and saw their car prior to dealer delivery (seriously).

In any case, don't worry too much. It's happens to everyone's cars and the dealers are pretty used to the clean up process since they do it all the time.

Yes, I laugh too, especially seeing as part of that charge is to actually freight the vehicle too, after seeing the charges involved in trasporting cars recently I can understand the costs!

SO long as mine doesn't sit on the dock in Bremerhaven, I NEED to be on that boat on the 29th!

Only a $2,000 carwash for me! haha..

We were definitely not on the Don Pasquale.. gave up hope on that a while ago.

I see no reason why Frostee and I shouldn't get on the Toreador though. Unfortunately I'm not optimistic you guys will be on there given the amount of time we had to wait at the port (car was finished on the 9/3).

Bring on Tuesday!... and then another few months of watching a ship travel across google maps =[

My car wash was $1750...great deal hah

I tend to agree with you Gav and payno, whether we are all on the same ship depends on how many damn cars are at the port awaiting shipping to Australia. But I see the glass half full, so I am still hoping that there is a chance, as the allocation of VW to cars to Australia is so abysmal that it could work in our favour. Toreador next stop is Zeebrugge, Belgium

Hey Frostee and payno keep us updated as soon as your status changes!
