Great news Frostee, thanks for the update (damn you). I hope I will have some good news this week, pretty sure Gav and I are on the same schedule. Have you been able to start tracking yet?

I hope you guys get good news next week - as discussed previously it would be great if we're all on the same ship.

Re tracking, nothing yet. VIN comes up blank when put in the tracker. I suspect that will change next week.

Yep... the VIN doesn't appear on the tracking site until the car is on the boat. Each car is literally stopped in front of the ramp, where a barcode (or RFID) is scanned, and then it continues to be driven up the ramp onto the ship to be parked and strapped down...

Frostee man, that's great news, but unless yours misses a boat, I think yours will be arriving 2 weeks before Joe and I. Not such a bad thing because it means that we can both work out pretty accurately when our will arrive!

Jow, frostee's started body the day ours was handed over and it seems that it is bang on 2 weeks to the day from handover to build start, so that means as of wednesday 16/03, our cars should be getting built and then leaving production as of the 22/3rd, that will be a good birthday present, my car will be rolling out of the factory due to the time difference!

Frostee, yours might be waiting at the dock a while to be shipped, it looks to be sitting on hold there for 5 days... wonder if Joe's and mine will catch up to it.....

Apparantly my one is built and sitting on the docks awaiting shipment. Shipping time ~8 weeks (maybe a little more due to Japan situation apparantly). Mine was ordered on 8/1/2011.

Lucky you. Still don't understand how I ordered in late December and my car won't arrive before August.

They generally give the estimate of 8 weeks to factor in any unforseen issues, it only takes 6 weeks from the port in Bremerhaven, Germany to Melbourne. To sydney, add a couple of days, then knowing the stupid layout of Sydney, add another day to take a journey up to Newcastle, which should realistically only take 2 hours

Whatever you do, don't believe a thing head office says, they still believe my car gets handed to production in week 18, AKA last week of april, yet it's (hopefully) being started tomorrow....

Given that the Polo's are produced in Spain, don't they ship from there directly?

Nope, like yours would have done last wednesday, it will take a 2 day train trip from Pamplona to Bremerhaven to be loaded onto the ships
