Hey Jon...that's great she made it on the Grand Mercury....now you will have something to keep you occupied for a while....hehe, I became a track and trace tragic.....worst part is when it goes out of range for days on end.
Depending on the time frame, you may be lucky and get to see yours go through the Panama via live web cam...I managed to take screen shots of mine waiting for the lock to fill up, but I HAD to leave for work and missed it actually moving through the lock. Seeing it there and knowing my car was on it was surreal though

Haha too cool. I spent about 10years of my life working on spec'ing, designing the technology, consulting and running projects on tracking systems (all over the world) and to be honest I feel that the level of tracking info on these cars is actually slightly scary from a security perspective, but as a normal member of the public im really pleased to be able to 'see' where my car is of course. I will absolutely be checking the cams on the canal and also may even be sad enough to drop down to the port and see the cars unload, just dont tell my mrs, she reckons im sad enough as it is... LOL!

I should also say that 'my' ship has now left Le Harve (I assume it was picking up some French cars for Aus on its way?) and is back in the English (writing that feels 'American' to me, Im an ex-pom so to me I dont need that word, like a redundant 'back' in 'horse (back) riding', or 'dog' in 'puppy (dog)'... anyway...)' Channel on its way to here...

I'm more tragic. I dont actually have a car on a boat but I work across the road from Port Kembla harbour and I watch the trucks going in and out hoping that the next one will be loaded with VWs. I should take a pic of the mega carport and post it. And also the southern classic vw holding yard is just around the corner and I drive past it every day looking at the plastic wrapped vws with their blue foam bumper bits.
@NRD80Y.....hope all goes well for trip to Sydney and pick up Saturday...only two more sleeps to ownership
Im sure you will enjoy your trip home
How did you manage to get that pic of you car BTW?

Hehe, well we must also be classed as sad cause we weren't gonna miss the golden opportunity of seeing ours coming up the Yarra
then racing back to the car and driving around the opposite side to watch her berth with binoculars, camera at the ready....
Sat and watched for 3 hrs but no Polos came off....tired and hungry we came home......she was unloaded 1 hr 21 mins after we left.
Seeing that ship in the flesh (or metal) was priceless after tracking her for weeks, almost made the 11 mth wait a distant memory
