Jeremy629 - that's fantastic. Certainly much better than the proposed mid August delivery. With the amount of date changes you've had, you must be thrilled to bits. Can't wait to hear how much fun you are having once you get her.

Yeah it is quite lucky, as the day they were saying delivery was to take place was the 17th of July which I will be in melbourne anyway for the Age 5km walk. But when told it would be 15th of august very upset... But as I have the Wednesday off it works perfectly, so just have to make sure i get the paperwork through with the finance. Cant wait Will have to look at a different way home to ballarat to make use of the new sporty car

Well, after what at times felt like an excruciating wait, my GTI has finally been loaded on a boat bound for Australia!! All up, it was 6 weeks and 1 day between the time it was built and the time it was loaded on the Talisman The dealer's estimate of delivery has slipped about 2 or 3 weeks. I'm expecting to pick it up some time around the 2nd or 3rd week of September.

There are 5 Polos on the Talisman all up - all bound for Port Kembla. Silver lining on the delayed loading is that it's coming the short way via the Panama Canal.

Keep in mind that the car isn't built in 1 day. Hence why they have a build week, and not day
SO once it's handed over to production, they schedule the parts and the slot, the body shop starts it's stuff first and then the body and the rest of the parts meet a few days later, and then there is the QA and the running of the car on a rolling road. Then it goes to the factories holding yard, then it gets on a train and goes to Bremerhaven Germany. Then it sits at the ports. Then it gets on a boat eventually.

Don't know about anyone else, but mine had a build day and I was aware that they take about a day give or take to build. I've watched 2 previous cars be built to order. Neither took anything like 6 weeks to be loaded onto the ship - that said, the factory was located much closer to the port than Pamplona is to Bremerhaven. In the case of my cooper S, it was something like a week from rolling down the production line to being loaded onto the ship.

Yes, on the Extended Information table in NADCON, there is a specific day listed under Production ID. We're not sure exactly what the date signifies. From the "ETA Data" screen you can see each of these steps:
    8. Allocation of Production Plant
    9. Handover to Production
    10. Start Body Shell Shop
    11. End Body Shell Shop
    12. Start Paint Shop
    13. End Paint Shop
    14. Start Final Assembly
    15. Checkpoint 8 Handover to Sales
    16. Start Service Shop
    17. End Service Shop
    18. Exit Production Plant
    19. Arrival Port of Shipment

Now, unless step 10 and step 18 for you occurs on the 1 day, it would indicate that it dates multiple. Unfortunately I haven't seen a "delivered" ETA Data screenshot for you Polo guys, so no idea how many days it's actually in production. Maybe someone like gavs etc got their and can share?

My car has now been at Patrick Autocare for 2 weeks and still hasn't been finished.
Apparently the tracking site states that it can take up to 7-14 days from arrival at Patricks to be completed.
    This is getting annoying
