Hey guys,
I'm going to get a HP DSG tune for my GTI and was wondering if anyone knows the torque limit for the DSG after the tune. I want to get a ECU tune for the car too but I don't want to destroy the clutch packs with too much torque.
Thanks guys
Wow can the DSG really be tuned to safely handle that much torque? I think the limit that most responsible ecu tuners will give you is 300Nm for the DSG.
Even the better 'tuning box' tunes, eg Berger tuning (JB4) will recommend a safety setting ("boost safety 4.0" for the 2015 Polo GTI) that 'looks after' the DSG. Having said that Racechip are quoting 409Nm for its Ultimate model for the 2015 Polo GTI, way too high.
Does HP have a DSG tune for the 2015 model? To my knowledge there is no one in Australia yet offering an ecu tune for the new Polo GTI.
2015 Polo GTI with DA pack : Milltek Turbo back exhaust | DD spacer | JB1 | VWR Turbo Intake elbow and intake hose | BMC panel filter | KW Street Comfort coilovers | Whiteline adjust. endlinks | Harding DSG Perf. tune | Wagner Intercooler| Dotz Mugello 17 x 8 32ET
With further research the most you can get out safely is up to 320 N.m of torque before the clutch has to be upgraded on DSG dq200
(I stand corrected - car_nut is right - 500 N.m and up for the upgraded clutch with kevlar disks)

Tempting to get those kevlar clutch packs now haha. I've called a few people so far and it seems like the MY15 GTI can now be tuned. I think APR has also recently stated that they have unlocked the ea888 gen 3 engine for all models now.
Thanks for the info about the torque specs though guys.

Well I just recently emailed TMG Performance about their kevlar discs since they only confirm compatibility up to 2012.
DSG7 clutch with Kevlar disks if you're interested. They're quite expensive though.
Thanks.
Worth considering if I want to get aggressive on the tune...
