TMC

Hi

After two months, I finally got my hands on an OBDEleven module (thanks AUSPOST for that). I followed the instructions on this thread to enable TMC, but still nothing . Does anyone know what's the magic number I should put in?

Also, I enabled CarNet but when I want to set it up, it says I have to put a CarStick in the USB socket, or search for WiFi. When I tell it to search for WiFi, the "Find Hotspot" button is grayed out. Is this a hardware limitation, or can it be overcome? Also, can I use any USB 3/4G dongle, or do I have to buy the one VW sells?

Update.

I enabled WiFi on Discover Media Now I have to find a way to sign up for Car Net.

Regarding TMC, I'm still browsing other forums. 1024 appears to be the correct decryption key, but I still see TMC with a diagonal line on it when I go to the traffic page :'(

ibiglar: Hi . I've translated my original VCDS instruction for TMC into OBD11 speak in the screen shot below - the tweak doesn't need a security code on the mk7, so I'm surprised that the Polo is asking for a code! Are you sure this is needed? The security code for the mk7 is 20103.

I was asking about 1024. I have put it there, enabled RDS (byte 13, bit 0), and TP, and 24 hours later, still no report

On the Traffic page on Discover Media, I see TMC on top with a diagonal line across it.

Secondly, I have done the same and set TMC to 1024 via OBDEleven but I feel like I am meant to having an RDS option that I feel is missing?

I don't have the screen shots. You go to Infotainment, Adaptations, and scroll down to Vehicle Configuration. You have to enable WLAN and WiFi Hotspot (or words to that effect). Then you'll have WLAN in Settings. You can enable CarNet icons somewhere else... I guess it was in coding. But without an account, there is no use

Regarding RDS, it's in coding. Byte 13

^^^ Screens from my MIB1 with operating TMC. Blue box in 1st picture automatically ricked when "Radio Data System (RDS) ticked in 2nd picture - without this ticked, the information that I have referred-to as "RDS" in 3rd picture doesn't appear (I think)

Thanks Don. Mine is almost the same. RDS was on Automatic, and I don't have Automatically save station logos. But TP and Radio Text and RDS are enabled

This is my settings. I am receiving weather forecast and everything, but no traffic

What baffles me is that TMC with diagonal line...

Maybe it is because of WLAN and CarNet? I will disable those tonight and see if there's any difference...
