tinny/rattle noise in second gear 2011 polo gti

Hi all

I have only had my gti for a few weeks but i've noticed that there is a tinny like rattle noise that happens when i accelerate in second gear, it seems to kick in around 2k revs and has also happened a number of times in third gear but by far more noticeable in second.

Has anyone else come across this or know what it could be? is it normal?

could be the shift mechanism part of the mechatronics unit playing about, they do make a rattling noise when they're plaing in D, I notice in manual that I get less front-of-car rattles...

If i'm coasting in 2nd gear and then hit the accelerator I get a clunking noise, but that's just the gearbox re-engaging. I've learnt that it's just the noise it makes......

my 2012 gti does the same thing in lazy 'D' mode... but in manual or 'S' it goes away... just a normal noise of the mechatronic unit...

however my 2011 77tsi did it muuuuuch more violently... perhaps check with a dealer?

Is it a faint noise? or is it loud? I had a faint metallic rattle/sliding sound when in 2nd and 6th gear when I had my Polo TDI DSG. I would check it out with the dealer. Although they will probs say it's a feature of the DSG...
