    TDI upgrade options

Well, I know I'm from South Africa, but I've looked around here and tuners are pretty mum about tuning the 6R TDI or even having performance upgrades for it.

I want to know what the Aussies know about the upgrading of the TDI.

I want to know things like exhaust options, current exhaust setup (it has that filter thing in doesn't it), intercooler options, software options, power gains, stuff like that.

Also I've heard that the internals of the 1.6 Motor is not so reliable. Is this true? If so, are there any higher rated parts out there or will I have to get some machined...

    TDI upgrade options

Hey bud, I don't think you will find much here because we aren't a very big diesel market, let alone a performance diesel market. See if you can track down a local Viezu dealer in SA, they get some pretty good gains out of the last diesel polo. If you can't find one, I'm sure Viezu here would be more than willing to help out.

Exhaust should be a fairly easily fabricated custom job if you know I an exhaust joint, other wise along with the other parts, look to Europe my friend

From all accounts, it's not a great engine to tune unless you ditch the DPF (the filter thing) since that seems to be very prone to clogging even in standard tune (most remaps will increase soot so it would clog even faster). The older 1.9 PD engine was VERY strong and easily tuned.

Check out TDi Club to see if some of the euro posters can help more (I remember reading about a 1.6 putting out big numbers with a LOT of mods)

I won't ever user Viezu again. Had a horrible experience with them in South Africa, so I will rather look to other makes such as Revo. But Revo SA hasn't done any 6R TDI's yet.

Apparently the exhaust also has a sensor on it so don't want to just go and make something custom.
