reviving another semi-old thread...

I'm installing a set of Kw V1's as soon as I get the new set of bolts, strut spreader and an M14 spline socket, then I'll report back and let you know.

Ok, so KW Street Comforts got installed this afternoon (along with Remsa pads and some decent fluid), and man, what a difference compared to the H&R 25/40 springs and stock dampers! It's still firm but no longer crashes over manhole covers and road wrinkles, and doesn't bounce around. So much more composed. Yet to give the 77 a spanking in the hills to compare but I'm very happy with the around town ride. I left it at the height that the H&R springs were at but might wind it down once the suspension settles. If you want to drop your ride but maintain a decent level of comfort and composure (and can stretch to these budget-wise) I totally recommend them.

Installing KW v1's tomorrow

Had to order in all the stretch bolts and nuts etc. about $35 or so all up.

How do the street comforts compare to the V1's that I'm going to install? I want some sort of compliance and absorbsion. Yours sounds ideal for what I'm looking for. With boavista and stock height, it looks like its on stillts, needs a slamming

I actually didn't notice he has the street comforts with my last post. Sounds like they have a similar ride to the KW v1's I have. V1's are much nicer than stock gti suspension except for the highly annoying rebound knock, still havn't found a way to remove it

Front or rear?

Fronts, it gives a light annoying thud on rebound on small dips/bumps in the road during normal cruising conditions.
