Yes please on the more info part ! Thanks
Came across an interesting video of someone who made a on/off switch on his sound actuator.
You can hear a clear difference Here (Youtube link)
Can't blame everyone for pulling it out and enjoy the real engine noise, not artificial..
Got more info on pulling it out if needed
Yes please on the more info part ! Thanks
Here's a pic-by-pic walkthrough:
Where is it?
the plug:
what else is there?
It's out, what now?
Just tape the remaining plug to keep out moisture and you are done no error codes or anything.
Enjoy!
Jut ensure everyone, if you are in australia (PoloDave isn't, check the wipers ) the sound generator is on the opposite side of the car, the air ducting is on the passenger side here in Oz.

Never even though of that, good point Gavs!
Thanks PoloDave......
What exactly does this thing do?
As best I can tell (I've removed it but have a hearing loss), it adds a bass-y drone to the engine noise you hear in the car. It seems to be hooked into the ECU so varies in line with throttle and/or revs.
Without it, the car is almost silent from inside when cruising or idle. It still makes a bit of noise when you put the foot down, but you can hear much more induction noise (supercharger and turbo doing their thing).
I also noticed that it had a bit of a psychological effect on me of making me feel a bit more comfortable in the car - doesn't sound like an angry animal trying to get away from you any more!
You can connect and disconnect at will anyway, so give it a go and see what you think.
Glad to help out and spread the knowledge
It's like the cigarette lighter plug-in engine noise thingies off ebay, but integrated
Personally, I like the impression it give passengers, the only annoying time is through the mountains when you want to hear more engine and exhaust note, it really drowns them out
