Hi all,
I am thinking of fitting rota grid 15x8 like this one the link with 225/45 r15 or 225/50r15
15x8 Rota Slipstream - Steel Gray(5x100/e40/57.1) Wheeldude.com - Professional wheel dealer.
Or if not maybe I could try Andros Spec D, but it's 16x7.5 +35 maybe on 225/45r16 from tirerack.com
The diameter of 225/45 R15 87V tyres (583 mm) is too small to be fitted to a Polo GTI.
225/50 R15 91V (607 mm) or 225/45 R16 89V tyres (608 mm) are a closer match to the original tyre's diameter anyway.
For the benefit of Victorians, here are some selected extracts from VSI 8: Guide to Modifications for Motor Vehicles (October 2011).
The width of any replacement rim must not be:
1. more than 25 mm greater than the widest wheel specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series; or
2. less than the width of the narrowest rim specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series.
The overall diameter of any replacement rim and tyre must not be:
1. more than 15 mm greater than largest diameter tyre specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series; or
2. more than 15 mm less than the smallest diameter tyre specified by the vehicle manufacturer for that model or vehicle series.
The wheels and tyres must not foul any part of the body, suspension, steering or brake components at any position of the suspension travel or steering movement, and, when in the straight ahead position, the guard or bodywork of the vehicle must cover the section width of the tyre.

So for a 6R Polo GTI, these are the limits:
Maximum width = 8.0 J = 203.0 mm (7.0 J = 178.0 mm)
Minimum width = 6.0 J = 152.5 mm
Maximum diameter = 619 mm (215/40 R17 = 604 mm)
Minimum diameter = 585 mm (215/45 R16 = 600 mm)
