    Shudder...Normal or Bad?

    Hi Guys,

I have had my Polo for a little over a year now and in the last few months I have been experiencing the occasional shudder during take off.

At my last service they said they had a software update that was supposed to address the issue but it does't seem to have made any difference.

Should I be worried that my gear box is on the way out or is the occasional shudder considered normal for the DSG?

i would guess your are around the 20 000km - 30 000 Km mark ? and the shudder is from gear 1 to gear 2 if i remember correct ( or 2 to 3 i dont remember) at low speed. and it dose not do it in sport.

at some stage you will need what they car a clutch pack, i dont know what they do but it works it happened to my car (polo GTI) and my moms (golf at 20k- 30 K km ) and my dads

    Okay thanks.

In your case did they fix it immediately or wait until it was occurring more frequently? In my case sometimes it might happen 4 or 5 times on the way to work other times it might not do it at all.

Just go to the dealer with your car. They know about this. It won't (or shouldn't be!) news to them.

Mine started around the 15000 km mark. Clutches changed under warranty without question.

If they give you trouble, you can then decide to wait until the problem gets more severe, or try another dealer.
