Stick with your manual TSI...wait and purchase a different vehicle with similar stats or better stats to the Polo GTi (ford fiesta ST manual, Peugot 208 GTi).
hi guys, looking for opinions.
i have a manual, 77tsi with sport comfort and audio packs. she is stock except for adjustable coilovers and rear muff delete. currently 25k on the clock.
ive been looking and polo gti's are selling for around the 21.5 mark. My plan would be to get one still in warranty, and have the owner add extended warranty ( with my $$) before purchase so it transfers to me.
reasons are :
im sick of changing gears
tartan
moar power
interior comfort
and the name.
i figure if i can get 17-18 for mine, and pick up a gti for around 22, its well worth the extra 5k
whats scaring me is oil consumption and ongoing warranty issues.
any thoughts??

Well I haven't had any MAJOR problems so I'd say go for it! The GTI really is a much better car to drive.

Buying a new focus etc is out of the question. I'm a vw fan and would like to stick with the brand regardless of their issues.
I agree with fun. I'm 25 and still at Uni. I want something a bit of fun. I can save boring cars for later.

I love my MY12.5 GTI and it was the best decision ever to get a fun car. I had a Mazda 3 SP23 previously and it was alright. It's been over a year and every time I get into the gti I can't wait to drive it.
Do it.
For me, aside from checking my oil occasionally (and I don't have oil issue) ice never had to take mine in for warranty repairs. Touch wood.

Cheaper option would be to get a tune. Only $700 bucks, that brings it up to 100kw. I love my manual. Cant get enough of it. Each to their own.
I'm a fan of the auto , interior , exterior differences etc. it's only costing $30 a week more on finance too

Fair enough. You selling privately or trade in. I looked up car sales and your car is selling privately between $13k and $14.8k. Or trade in 10k or 11.1k you got someone lined up?
Room mate wants to buy it for 15k. Dealer has a friend negotiating for 16. So here's hoping
