    Roof racks on polo

Hi all, I think I've seen someone's car on here with roof racks but buggered if I can find it!

If you have roof racks, which ones do you have and post up a couple of pics I'm getting into the waterspouts scene and need to get some racks to transport the water chariot with the road chariot so I'm in need of inspiration

It took me more than a second to realize you meant waterspoRts and not waterspouts!

At least I think that's what you meant... I actually googled "waterspouts scene" to see what I was missing!

If I'm wrong, please enlighten me!

But I'm sorry I can't help with the roofracks. Those are on the wife's ute...

I have roof racks for my Polo. So the VW ones are really just rebranded Thule Aero Bars. Benefit of them (factory supplied) is that you don't need to worry about getting the fitting correct though it looks simple enough to adjust them if needed. I'll get some photos of them tomorrow. Do you want photos of them on the car or just close ups of the bars?

On the car thanks Gumpf. Will probably go with the Thule wingbar as I do quite a bit of work with the aero bars and they can be quite noisy. The wingbar is dead silent.

Yes, I meant waterSPORTS stupid iPhone.....

Yeah its a noisy bugger but I only put it on when I'm taking the mountain bike out. So in the grand scheme of things its hard to tell the difference when its on. I've wondered if its worth replacing the horizontal bar to the wing bar but truthfully I think I can spend my money better elsewhere.
Don't forget though if you go Thule, order them all at once and make sure you get them to one key the lot. If you go to say Autobahn or similar they are reluctant to do it as they have it in stock and will want you to pay extra to order the extra locks with the specific key. If you go to a place that is a dealer without stock they will order it and you won't have to pay the extra to get the locks included. Thats been my experience anyway.
Give me an hour or so...

Alright y'all. Heres some photos of the factory roof racks

So as I was taking photos I noticed that there are specific numbers for the rubber shoes that fit the roof groove perfectly. Would you like those details as well??

I am getting Thule wing bars fitted in a few days time so will post a pic with the new rack on my black GTI.

Also going to get 2 x Thule 591 bike carriers on there too. I'm sure the GTI will look quite comical with 2 upright bikes on top! I dont have a garage at the moment so no chance of the dreaded bike vs top of garage collision.

I went there for info and to get my eyes on the bike racks. I had no intention to buy my Thule accessories from them. I got mine from my local bike shop who gave me a better price anyway.
