RNS510 and 9W7 Bluetooth in new Polo 6R

Hi - my rev D unit has a ~30GB hard drive and production date is March 2011.

So I just finished doing this conversion (RCD510 to RNS510 + 9W7 Bluetooth)
The RNS works great. But I cant pair with the bluetooth. When i turn on the ignition and search for a bluetooth device on my phone (and the mrs phone) it doesn't find the Polo's 9W7.
Its almost like the 9W7 module isnt there.
The kit I bought came with a secondary wiring harness that seemed to go between the factory large plug (back of the RCD) and the RNS & 9W7 module. I double checked the connections and everything is plugged in (maybe an issue??) THe large square plug, single blue plug and dual white plug into the RNS, the 9w7 plugs are in nicely also.

Any suggestions??

What does the screen say when you press the phone button? No phone found or no module found? Try resetting the RNS510 by holding both arrow keys and the star key for 5 seconds

Nothing comes up on the screens when I press or hold the phone button.
Resetting didn't help either. Im guessing there is a wiring issue. It seems like the RNS doest see the 9W7 module at all.

Just had this very BT unit (from Spain) installed and paired with RCD510 in GTI.
After some initial hickups (couldn't find my iPhone) finally did and all ok.
However, steering control buttons and MFI not working...
Am I correct that this is a programming thing, and can be done by dealer or anyone with VagCom tool?
If so, what is required, bearing in mind that I am in Far North Queensland and there is not exactly a lot of choice of places to go?
Would love the steering buttons to work.
BTW, install of BT unit cost me $165, with unit installed behind glovebox and mic in its proper place above centre light. Sounds great through the stereo too, although phone ring made me jump from my seat!

Yes, for the steering wheel buttons to work you will need to have this function activated either by a dealership or someone with a VagCom unit through teh control module for the steering wheel.
