I have tried 2 types of rim protectors.

I tried the stick on rim skins, which do end up looking cheap and since you have to cut the ends and line up the edge of the rim properly, can look a little messy. I had those on Denvers.

When I got my Motorsport Wheels I tried black RimRings, These were much better being a solid ring, they were fairly easy to put on and look neat.

I have however taken them off as the fronts were starting to work loose. The rears were on solid, but I think with only a 215 tyre to hold them to the rim and given the energy put through the fronts, they started to come out. I don't think they would have come right out easily but it really wasn't something I wanted to risk. I could have stuck at it and just propped up the car let down the tyre and banged them back in every now and then, but having to do that a service station wasn't very appealing to me.

The rim blades look to be in between the 2 things I have tried, in that it is a harder plastic but you still trim yourself. I would look at the Rim Rings and see how you go, I don't think the others will work out the best visually.

I bought the rimringz direct from the company in the states. Somewhere around the $150 mark all up I think.

If you want Black ones in a 17" you can always buy mine
