    Retrofit fog-lights for Polo 6R

    Hello everyone,

    I have a humble 1.4 Polo 6R which came without fog-lights.

Contacted local VW agent and was told its an option that has to be specified during purchase as it can only be fitted in factory (they said wiring, control unit and front bumper are different).

I managed to find a pair of fog-lights together with the necessary plastic moulding, is it possible to fit them directly to the battery via a relay, fuse and switch?

Sounds straight forward and I have done it on my previous ride (simple Kia) however this being a VW, I worried about any electrical gremlins.

Has anyone installed fog-lights on the Polo 6R this way?

    Thanks.

If you were to wire the lights that way, independent of any other electrical systems, then you will not have any problems.

But if you wanted them wired into the headlight circuitry (so the fogs can only be turned on once parkers are already on), I'm not sure. Any decent auto electrician would be in the know.
