Those dectanes look amazing! Hope you wont get a problem with water in them, the dectane headlights are terrible!

And: There are no R tail lights for the polo, just clear black OEM

Couldn't believe it! After months of having them installed, only this morning I saw a little fog in my right rear dectanes. Reminds me of a cold, wet day with OEM Xenons how they fog up. But the rear tails might have a moisture leak somewhere but a little black silicone around the edges will easily sort that.

Updated review: LOVE EM. Heaps of compliments of people saying how cool they are and how they look 3D. Really popular with the women actually LOL!!! Besides having to rewire a little bit to allow the fog/reverse light swapover, it was a breeze to install.

I've been told that you can also recode the taillight circuit via VW tools or VCDS, and have the car think it's LHD. This means you don't need to add extra wiring to swap the fog and reverse over.

The oem tinted dont need any rewiring. The lights are two parts. The housing which has the outer lenses and the globe holder that just clicks in the back and the globes in it and the electrical connector.

With the oem tinted you have to swap your original globe holders with the ones that come on the tinted. But before that you need to pull out the fog lense as there's is on the other side (left) This means your fog light on the other side (right) won't be red but you can get red globes or red globe paint. The one problem I had was the black ones I got had the brake globes soldiered in, this was a pain as the tinted lense are clear on the brake so you need red globes. And the originals are red lenses so have clear globes. I couldn't get them out as he plastic would jus melt
I got my clear globes and used the globe dye to make them red but they come out pink so got some red led globes.

    Hi guys,

I've got a set of the black OEM tail lights coming after following this thread. Really good info on all the different options.

Just checking if anyone had any updates as to if the VCDS can be set to use LHD tail lights?

lunchbox - did your red LED globes just go straight in, no worries?

    cheers

Nope you can't change it in VCDS. The wiring loom is set according to region when the car is built and its hard wired.

The only 2 options is to use the back panels from the original headlights or swap the pin layout on the plug that goes into the panel. Either way it's a 30 second job for each

No you need a load resister. Near a or Philips do good ones. Philips have some led brake globes now but not sure if there error free.
