    REAR Muffler delete

Righto, so pretty much everyone has or will be doing a mid resonator delete... STOP!

After hearing Marcus' BILT Polo, (1.2) he has kept his middle res and deleted the rear muffler. WOW, seriously sounds like a Golf R. Can hear him blocks away but it's a deep tone! DOESN'T Sound like a 1.2 at all! Great job Mark seriously!

After hearing both mine and Gary's GTI's, we both have mid res deletes but the BILT Polo sound was just to die for. Ours farted but sounded tinny! Rear muffler delete might be a little too loud for some (GTI only?, 1.2 perfect) so maybe replace it with a smaller muffler if you wish?

Now, here is a Polo GTI with just mid res delete:
    POLO GTI 6R - YouTube

And with Mid res delete and smaller rear muffler:

Someone with a GTI please try muffler delete without taking mid resonator out, as IMO it would sound even better!

    Eddie.

    REAR Muffler delete

Was going to do this ghetto style a little while back with a single pipe but as a permanent solution you would need to get the twin rear pipes re-done. Would cost a bit more than the middle delete... I have a feeling that from memory, the rear muffler doesn't yield the fart but does deliver more bass. Middle muffler removed helps the engine breathe better too.

I've heard you can lose power when you do a muffler delete, do you?

Have not experienced this with the Mid-Muffler delete, and none of the guys have complained from the day we did in Castle Hill - though I did hear of a guy who may have had an issue with the cut taking out an O2 sensor.

It did a tiny bit, lesss than mine.. Don't know if it is because of different way we deleted our mid resonator, or how it was driven?

But yeah, can definitely confirm that removing the rear muffler DOES add a huge amount of bass, deeper tone too. The BILT polo still had the middle res, but straight pipe for rear muffler. It had both fart and deep tone. Honestly was better than a Golf R LOL!!!

Looks like Marcus needs to make a video for us! Hint Hint!
