    RCD510 and 9w7 Bluetooth

    Hi all,

I have a 2010 TDI Polo 6R (i.e. no MFD+). I have just upgraded to the RCD510 from the base unit and was wondering if anyone had an RCD510 and a 9w7. I am wanting to upgrade my BT module to the 9w7 and I want to know if you get phonebook/phone features displayed on the head unit.

The head unit has a 'PHONE' button and the manual says it can do all the functions, but I have read multiple posts on other forums saying that you don't get those features in North America, but you do in Europe.

I'm hoping that because ours has a PHONE button it will display dialler/phonebook etc on the HU. But I want to confirm with someone else with that combination.

    Cheers!

Yeah that's who I was going to buy it through. Seems to be recommended all over the place.

Yeah, I know how to do it and that it can be done. But I don't have a MFD+ or a RNS 510

    As per that link:

If you have the RNS 510 navigation system, it will also display the phone book or keypad on the touchscreen.
This is why I want to see if someone else has the RCD510 displaying phonebook etc on the touch screen with the 9w7

Yeah i see what you need done!!! Not having the MFD should not really cause any issue with the buttons on your steering wheel as there input is not controlled by the dash, I will look into this further and see if i can help with any other input regarding steering wheel controls and coding issues, Also i think phone book data from unit to the rcd 510 should be no problem they communicate over gateway and even if dash mfd is missing they may still work basic functions, Cheers

Apologies for reviving old threads, but I also have a MkV ie red MFD and RCD 510 - are you saying that all functions available through RCD510 just not displayed on MFD on console?
