    Just a quick update,
Dealer service dept rang and would like the car for Thu and could they keep it for a couple of days,,they will give me a loaner while they take a look at it, I suppose if it takes 5 hrs to do a 15k service this would be expected. Will update when I get some answers,, thanks for your input all.
The loaner will be interesting as they know I do at least 140ks every week day

Thanks all for the information, my wipers actually work [properly] now!

Scoie, the workslip for the job they did on mine said ‘Checked the vehicle for the rain sensor not working. Found the vehicle was incorrectly coded. Recoded and tested ok.’

Seems mine isn't the only 6R with teh wrong software / coding installed from the factory..... So, did you give them a rev-up about you not having rain sensing wipers and now you miraculously do?!

    Another Update
Took my Polo to the dealer last thursday, they still insisted they would need the car for at least a week to sort this issue out. Who am I to argue!!!! They handed me the keys to a new golf 90tsi wagon straight off the lot, 147 ks on the clock. Something different to drive I guess.
Anyway rang them today and they inform me, good luck they will be able to get the rain sensing wipers working,,,,still need a couple more days to get all the bits togethter. Anyway I should have my car back by the weekend.

I had one there about three years ago. No problems other then they broke the battery cover. I noticed it two days later and they paid to replace it.

Went to Barbagello VW in Melville (just around the corner of my house) on Saturday just to find that the service center is closed on weekends
So, I'll leave it for another 5000kms

Did get the chance to get inside the Amarok

So they have needed a week to plug in the diagnostics unit, do a download, check if the control block is there, activate it then give you the car back??!!
