    Quick question....

My cars due to be built 1st week of July.

If I want to add the panoramic sunroof as an option will this push my build slot out?

    Your opinions welcome!

Bahahahahaha - that's why it's bad spotting Polos.
I'm not sure if it will push your build slot out. Call your dealearship and find out.
It sounds like after seeing the Polo with the sunroof in your street, that you really want one now.....if it does push it out, will you regret not getting the sunroof so that you get the car quicker?

Possibly may push it out, but best to check with your dealer. There was a guy who orered his car about a week after me (mid December). After ordering Dealer decided to offer the customer a free audio pack for the inconvenience due to his delivery being delayed (not sure what it was but was obvioulsy later than my May/June delivery)/ Latest ETA for this guy is December. In discussion with the dealer the only conclusion they can come to is when they changed the order it pushed out the delivery, possibly it went back in the queue.

All this is speculation though. I'd be sure to get a commitment from your dealer that your delivery won't be impacted if you get the sunroof.

General concensis it that if the car hasn't progress through the "Dealer Spec" stage, you will be pretty right but if you car is due to be built in 2 weeks, I'd say you wouldn't even be able to change the spec, I'd say there's a fair bet you already have a build slot allocated to your car and if you do force the change, back of the queue....

My dealer in Adelaide told me once NADCON has been showing an Estimated Build date not even a confirmed one, the options are locked and any changes push you to the back of the queue.

This was when I enquired about adding more options to my gti.

Yeah I feel I may regret not getting it. But I have already waited so long. I think the miss might kill me if this car takes any longer.

I have emailed the dealer, might phone in this afternoon

The above pic is of the white with panoramic sunroof I saw last night. apologies for quality of picture.

Well, I was willing to wait 11 months for the sunroof. I've never had a car with one. My fiance had one in his previous car and didn't get one on his new one. I really miss it.

I don't like driving with the air con on and I hate having the windows down. Also I find that even parking in the street on a sunny 20 degree day heats up the inside of the car very quickly. I open the doors to let the hot air out before I get in and it takes forever....much quicker if there's a sunroof. I didn't care how long the wait was or how expensive it was....I just wanted one.

What about the incessent heat and sunburn during summer with it open? Why unless absolutely neccessary, I'd never buy a car with one again!

Wear a hat? Close the sun shade?

Ummmm....yes that true, but that's only if you open it during the summer on those hot days. Just like with anything, you use it when the elements suit. I wouldn't open the windows when it rains and I wouldn't open the sunroof when it's blistering hot. I'm sure Frostee made the most of the sunroof the weekend just passed, glorious sunny winter days. However, if it didn't come with the sunshade, I most likely wouldn't have ordered the sunroof.
