    Power output

I was running some numbers after chatting to a mate over the weekend about the move from a VR6 to a 77TSI Polo and the power I would be loosing...

The numbers look something like this in kW/T:

    128/1.240=103.23 kW/T
    77/1.048=73.47 kW/T

Now if you get a stage 1 upgrade then it looks something like this:
    100/1.048=95.42 kW/T

Now assuming a little loss from new to now on the VR6 I'd hazard a guess little Polo will be very comparable if it get's chipped.

Can't forget the extra torque from the turbo in the polo either... E.g. compare a stock 9n3 polo GTI with 110kw to a stock fiesta XR4 with 110 kw... polo is 100ish kg heavier but still a fair bit quicker than the festy.

Also read on here somewhere there's a stage 2 tune with 115 kw with a FMIC and exhaust.

Peak power is only part of the story. Is the new Polo bigger than the VR6? It's a shame the little cars are getting bigger.

    From Redbook:

    Length: VR6 - 4020 Polo - 4064
    Width: VR6 - 1695 Polo - 1682
    Height: VR6 - 1405 Polo - 1500
    Track Front: VR6 - 1450 Polo - 1464
    Track Rear: VR6 - 1434 Polo - 1456

As philthy said, size is about the same, weight is down in the Polo.

And yes, the Turbo should make the power more useable more often rather than peak at high revs. Even the stock unit feels pretty quick
