So you are considering a different car because it has "right" BT module? That makes no sense to me.
As for other questions — cant rly say because in our country nothing comes as standard, i bought bt module for like $50 usd though (slightly used)
Hey all,
Looking into either the Polo 77 TSI or Golf 90 TSI for the little daily for our family.
Got a few questions that I haven't been able to really find on the forum (been reading it a lot of info for the last few days!).
I know with the new MY12 Polo it comes with Bluetooth and MDI as standard. The first thing I would like to do when I get the car is to retrofit the RNS510 (seems easy enough) but I was wondering whether the current installed bluetooth will be able to hook up to the RNS510 just fine and if the MDI can do that as well (I assume the MDI will be able to no problem).
Or would it be simpler to just get the 9W7 bluetooth module and just either A) remove the dealer fitted bluetooth (and have that ugle hole) and hopefully be able to still use the exiting microphone so I don't need to wire it in? or B) tell the dealer to not install it in the first place (is this even a possibility?).
I like the look and feel of the Polo and the only reason I am considering the Golf 90 TSI is that because it comes with the integrated bluetooth module (I assume the 9W7?) not like the polo's crappy craddle one, so in theory retrofitting the RNS510 everything should work perfectly. The other thing is that the Golf has the MFD Full where as the Polo only has the midline MFD (correct me if I am wrong here) which is a plus as everything can be accessible by the MFD.
Sorry for the long essay
ps. I wish retrofitting an upspec headunit with nav was this easy on the bimmer! retrofitting the iDrive is a major nightmare!

Amongts other things such as the difference in mfd but yes I am anal like that .
I really hate the Dealer fitted Bluetooth and prefer the integrated solution (that you would get from the factory but not an option on the 77 tsi) not sure if the Ukraine have the same dealer fitted BT.
If its for a family, then you should consider the Golf TSI, Polo's aren't really known to be family friendly in terms of boot space, cabin space.
Maybe some other members will be able to further aid you in your research.
Thanks mate, I should probably clarify when I say "family" it is just my parents that will be using it to go to our shop and back home. So there will rarely be more then two in the car. Though extra space isn't a bad idea too so that was one of the reason why we are considering the golf as well.
