Because of the DSG and warranty I have opted for a piggy back. In fact I have 'detuned' (through its PC interface) the piggyback to the developers more modest recommended boost and fuel trim settings because as quoted by the tester in South Africa and he is talking about the 2015 Polo GTI DSG "The majority of users including us have had concerns in regard to the strength of the transmission. The torque can be increased by quite a bit but until we know for certain that its going to last in that spec we keeping things relatively conservative. We do know flashed cars that are running very high torque levels and are keeping our ears open to see how long they going to last."
Over $1000 cheaper than the APR tune, I'm very happy with it and there is absolutely no way it leaves any logs or anything else in the ecu if something does go wrong. Most importantly it gives the drivechain/DSG all the extra power it is probably capable of handling.

It's a Berger Motorsports (BMS) JB1

As you can see it's still under development for the 2015 Polo GTI, the 4 'plugs' are same as for the Golf GTI platform including the R.
$379 only but that is US $ and because of our pathetic AU $ it was just under $690 AU delivered (express) but that was with the optional interface cable which is needed because the default settings need to be changed.
You can do a lot of reading, as I did before purchase, here but there is nothing on the Polo of course because it's a US based Golf forum -

George is the person to contact, he is very helpful, before and after purchase. He sent me a dyno result on a Polo GTI but the car has a downpipe fitted. I think just over 190kW at flywheel but that would be at settings that are not recommended for the DSG. PM me with your email if you want a copy.
I'm testing it further with before and after acceleration runs using a Gtech Pro and yes there are early indications of some significant improvements.
I have received no freebies etc from BMS and my opinions are impartial.

Failed, but only just, hoped to get to 6.0 or less. Probably my poor driving, way too much wheelspin and forgot to let the front tyres down a bit. 2 tries only, happy with the improvement.
As I have stated before the JB1 is set to the modest recommended fuel and boost trim levels to help preserve the DSG/clutches. I rarely do WOT and/or go over 4,000rpm so I might play around with the boost settings in map 6 (for those familiar with the JB1) to get some extra torque in the lower rev range.

LOL, no. (See my signature)
There was another Polo GTI 6R which was stock as a rock and getting 15.2's.
