    Hi THE EGG,
Mate, I feel for you and understand your pain...... I too had similar symptoms when I had my late 2009 build Jetta with the 7DSG box but in 118TSI guise..... All was good until the trans sh*t itself in the most inappropriate place
    I was not happy!!
I loved this car but after 2 issues with it (one major), I wanted out! and I did get out....... I love VW and decided to stay with the brand, although I moved to a Tiguan and I made sure this time it was MANUAL...... it was the best move I ever made considering all my previous cars have also been manual, I love being in control of a gearbox.....
The DSG is amazing and I loved it to bits, the efficient changes, the fart between changes, the fun was all fantastic, but it unfortunately still seems to have some issues.....
Tiggy 125TSI, 6 speed manual, tints, comfort pack.

Haha yeh the fart was probs my favourite thing about the DSG, I think the technology just needs to mature a little so they get all the kinks out. Yes I was thinking of just asking for a manual but they didn't want to trade even though I was fine taking a demo seeing my one could be sold as a demo (once fixed). Anyways, I will update again once I sell/trade my polo for a DS3. Also this was my first car too.

Hey, sorry to hear THE_EGG. I gotta say, those Austral VW people are as useful as a bloody grass skirt in a bush fire. Goddamn disgrace to the brand.

The service is better at the VW dealer on the road to the Gold Coast...Muuuuuuuch better.

Do tell us about the DS3 though...they look very sexy =D

A part from the DS3 rear (bum) looks like the designer got bored and just slapped it together like a Mr. Potatoe head toy.

its not just over there.. you just described their entire policy
we have to videotape our problems over here so they cant deny and have to fix it, or they will never encounter any problem if you leave it there for a day

I quite like the DS3 Sport. You have to be careful in the colour combo you get
The turbo engine is the same as a Mini so reflashes should be available.

I have to say that the peak TDI engine in the 66TDI is probably not a good match to a DSG gearbox.

I know I look at the DS3 as a value for money MINI. BTW because of license restrictions in QLD (P-plate), I can't have any turbocharged petrol engines excluding Smart Cars. 0-100km/h the DS3 is 0.2 sec slower than the standard cooper while being about $10 000 - $12 000 cheaper and having more kit. Although I do realise resale of the DS3 will not be as good as the MINI. Anyway the salesman will be back from holidays on the 31st of January so I will update then, although I have taken the DS3 for a test drive and I thought it was FANTASTIC! So much fun to drive, you chuck it into corners and it just sticks!

I read this for 2012 "Citroen admits the DStyle model has underperformed from a sales perspective so far. In an attempt to breathe new life into it, the 2012 model gets a 70kW/135Nm 1.4-litre petrol engine (replacing the current 88kW/160Nm 1.6-litre). The new engine is teamed with a six-speed EGS semi-automatic transmission, promising significant performance improvements over the old four-speed auto. Bluetooth is also included as standard."

I would try to get a runout 1.6L auto model!

Have you looked at the Hyundai Veloster?

Wow no I didn't know about that, I did know about the gearbox changing but wow reducing the engine size?! Thanks for the info man! Much appreciated. Yes I will be getting a run out 1.6L model, there are currently 5 to choose from at my local dealer and according to the salesman (email), no one else has contacted him so he said to take my time in choosing. Also, in all the models, rear sensors, USB and bluetooth are free options along with 50% off 17" alloys (up from 16" ones). The 4 speed isn't that bad imo although the manual control part isn't great but I can forgive it for that. Yes I have looked at the Hyundai but I really would not be able to live with myself if I bought a korean car (not racist I'm just more of a Euro car person). I personally prefer the looks of the DS3 too and for the price I'm paying for the DS3 I'm happy. All I need to do now is wait till the 31st.
