    as I found out the hard way, be careful when installing the GTI tacho.
    I did, and the ABS coding simply disappeared?!?! giving ABS, Traction Control and Tire Pressure fault codes on dash. And since that section of coding is locked VCDS wasn't able to help.
    The car has gotten a full reset through an internet connection between my dealer and VW Germany.
    If you somehow can bypass this problem (might just have been my tacho missing the coding, because it came of a test vehicle? and normal new tacho's do still have this coding?) The dealer will have to set your mileage and enable all the keys to re-enable the startlock system.

    The car is fixed now but still no working GTI tacho.. thinking of taking my losses and selling it again

    Ouch Dave - that would have bricked me - your a brave man. Recon I'll stick to the 77 dash and spend my money and time on those DRL's and whiter headlights,
