    polo ride height

It is the same thread, upon request I changed the title. Please ask questions in another thread though as this thread is meant purely for specs, not questions.

thought this could do with a bit of an update.

this is how the rear of my polo currently sits.

Kw V1, perches removed, top holder thingy removed, lower bump-stop cut in half (go on, someone have a go at me for that one)

    Arch to Ground; 595mm

My tdi is 350mm at the front and 380mm at the rear. I wouldn't mind 380 at the front the same as the rear. I need ground clearance for my daily drive up and down the Bruise Highway in CQ. Any ideas why my car is on a slant? Also I'm running 14" rims with 175/65 tyres. Next tyres will be 185/70 for extra height.

Its the way it's designed by stock - the back always has more clearance to compensate when you load it up with stuff.

The gross weight for the car is about 1500kg (tare is 1080 average). 2 people in the front (140kg), 3 people in the back (210kg) and about 150kg in the boot for goods - most people lower the car so that the back doesn't sit so high because having bags of concrete in the boot to keep it low is bad for performance

You might struggle to find raising springs for these cars though, they are not exactly attracting 4wd owners...but then again you could look at the springs from a cross polo

    Setup: Springs, Eibach Pro-Kit/Sportsline
    Wheels Front and Rear: Team Dynamics Pro-Race 1.2 Anthracite 8 x 18 ET35 5x100 57.1DB
Tyres Front and Rear: Khumo 225/35
Arch height to ground (to centre hub) Front: 625mm (328mm)
Arch height to ground (to centre hub) Rear: 643mm (343mm)

Not as low as I would like but NO TYRE RUBBING and less stress on std. dampers + improved ride quality and handling.
Body down from std GTI ride height: 33mm rear and 16mm front

You will need the <929kg springs, 77TSI is quite a bit lighter in terms of front axle load. It's in the manual somewhere towards the back. My 6spd manual is something like 880kg FAL (from memory, which my wife tells me fails me constantly).

    Car: Polo TSI (Comfort)
    Setup: KW Street Comfort Coilovers
Wheels: Advan RS 17x8.0 ET37 (Dark Gun Metallic)
Tyres: Continental Premium Contact 2 215/40R17
Arch height to ground Front: 624 (+/- 1mm)
Arch height to ground Rear: 629 (+/- 1mm)

Thanks to Damien (Gusman) for helping out with my choice of coilovers. Couldn't be happier at the moment. Have rebound damping dialed in at halfway between soft and hard. There is room to go lower but my brief for the Polo is OEM+ setup with practicality. Love this thread as well as it helped me out in deciding my setup. Let's keep it going
