Polo R WRC video (stats, pricing etc)

I did a quick search on here but I couldn't find this video on here so hopefully it isn't a repost. Anyway, this video is from DWTV dubbed in english about the Polo R WRC road car and rally car. There is a spec sheet @ 2:12 for performance figures etc. Apparently it will be 33,900 euros which to me seems a little pricey, especially with the new Golf GTI mkVII around the corner.

Very pricey but the video says there was only 2500 made. Enthusiasts will snap those up no problem.

Yeah, I know I would, especially without the 1.4TSI and DQ200 DSG in it, fair chance that this could be the most reliable polo in the 6R derivative ever made..... aside from the diesel but we won't mention that here.....

for 34,000 euros what can beat that ? I assume a modded Golf/Sirocco R ?

Well, for starters, a normal mkVI golf GTI is ~28 000 euros so probably about ~29 500 for the mkVII when it comes out and I think that would be about the same performance but in a golf. Also, the megane RS is one of the best hot-hatches out there and it costs only 27 000 euros. The list goes on. However it was probably a good decision that VW made the Polo R a limited production run to entice buyers as it is limited edition - similar to how the DS3 Racing was a hit for Citroen and it was a limited production vehicle too.

So when you take into account the bigger prices we have in Australia for cars, if we get the Polo R here it will probably be about $50 000. That really is a stab in the dark though.
