    Polo R WRC

Think they just had to make an R model, or at least name a Polo that; and make it special with a non oil chewing engine model

The current 6R Polo is just as fast as the current Golf GTI!

    Polo R WRC

Well, another genius move of not adding a LSD has resulted in autocar saying its basically rubbish. Plus a dull exhaust note and the conclusion is 'good' but pointless...

None of the cars (Polo GTI, Fabia vRS, Ibiza Cupra) that use the 1.4 twin charger 132kw engine come with a manual. Would seem to suggest that VW couldn't package the twin charger engine and a 6 speed manual under the bonnet.

Same goes for the Audi A1 Sport.

It's more likely an on-purpose gimping of the lower model to make the bigger one more appealing. If the Polo GTI was manual, there'd be no appeal for enthusiasts to get the Golf GTI.

Since the dawn of time the hot Polo has been lesser compared to the Golf GTI. I'm quite surprised they didn't pair it down further. They could of easily turned down the tune of the 1.4 for a slightly lesser 0-100

In Germany, the Polo R WRC sells for EUR 5225 (AUD 7400) more than the Mk7 Golf GTI, or EUR 4075 (AUD 5800) more than the Mk7 Golf GTI with Performance Package.

You'd have to be very... "dedicated" to overlook that price difference.
