It's not quite that easy... different engine range.

Why is everyone so bummed about this motor? Its pretty crazy for a NA 2 Liter. KW wise the Golf GTI only makes 7 more, and the lighter weight helps combat the low torque

It is? Civic Type Rs have has similar outputs for years (even in this market). So has the Clio RS200. They just don't feel fast.

    This.
Also the "bang for your buck" tuning potential is a lot more limited.

The Honda S2000 has had 170kw out of a NA motor for like a decade.
And seriously... 147kw @ 7000rpm, and then only 205Nm at 6600rpm... A 400 rev difference... seriously... that's just rubbish. If you were to buy that car, factor in the cost of a REAL motor, because the stock motor is just a joke.

Exactly... up to 60km/h just about anything can out accelerate a S2000

Not my point, the point of the car, which is handling and balance. It's not meant to be a Supra. There's plenty of alternatives with more grunt, but not many with the low weight, RWD and low low low centre of gravity of this thing.

Edit. Sorry, getting well off topic. I do look forward to having a drive of a polo R if and when it shows up. Just hope it's not FWD.
