Look, should have let you know sooner ... dealer changed front wheels left to right and problem fixed ... claims the a tyre is badly formed! I suppose we leave tyre on this wheel until new set eventually. Now running fine!

    Thanks guys.

I myself am experiencing a similar issue with my GTI slightly pulling to the left.

First thought that I was paranoid and over analyzing the situation but after letting my mechanic mate test out the car to get a 2nd opinion, he agreed that the alignment was slightly out. We were on a flat section of the road doing 80km/h and the car would slowly veer towards the left after letting go of the steering wheel. Also when driving on the freeway I find that i have to make a slight correction to the right to go straight.

Spoke to my dealer the other day regarding this problem (as well as a squeaking sound which appears to be coming from the driver seat when going over dips) and they said to bring it in for a checkup. I asked the question whether alignment issues were covered under warranty and they said it depends what needs to be done and only within the first 1000km.
I've already clocked up nearly 1900km, two weeks after picking up the car

Does anyone know if this is written somewhere in VW's warranty T&C?

If it's only a slow and slight pull to the left then it's nothing to be concerned about. Roads are not completely flat anyway and if anything, consider it a precautionary measure for oncoming traffic....not that I encourage taking your hands off the wheel LOL. My car does it a little as well.

In regards to your seat squeak, I had this problem too, it drove me crazy so I had a warranty job done on that. They had 2 cracks at it but fixed it. Don't hesitate, get it done or you'll go mad.
