Gavs, what's to expect from MY13 Changes and CTHE engine for Polo GTI? Is it worth waiting for the new 6R till Sept?

Nope, they have made some fairly substantial revisions to the motor but in all honesty, your guess is as good as mine regarding the oil consumption. Hell, they have supposedly been working in the squeaking supercharger clutches for nearly 10 years, I don't expect this to be a silver bullet, unless of course they can tidy up their tolerances in manufacture...

On top of that, sept is the introduction for production, cars delivered here would unlikely have that new engine until the new year, unless they use us (like all the other manufacturers) as a RHD production dumping ground.

Found this on the UK site

Customers buying a new Volkswagen Polo will now get value worth talking about (even if they’re alone in the car), thanks to the addition of standard Bluetooth hands-free phone connection kits on all models above S specification.
All Polo models from the BlueMotion up will now come fitted with the Touch Phone Kit, which was previously a £245 option. The Touch Phone Kit adds a 2.8-inch colour touchscreen to the Polo’s dashboard. This can display a phone book, call lists, reception status and more, depending on the make and model of the phone to which it is connected.
The Touch Phone Kit also offers voice control of functions including dialling and answering, and can even ‘read’ out text messages and emails that are received. Two telephones may also be connected at the same time.
All Polo models also now come with DAB digital radio as standard, giving customers a greater choice of radio stations to which to listen, and all models from Match trim up also come with an MDI multi-device interface, for seamless integration of portable music devices such as iPods.
It’s not just the Polo that customers will be calling home about. Bluetooth is also standard on all High up! city cars; all Golf, Golf Estate, Golf Plus, Jetta, Touran, Tiguan and Sharan models above S specification; and all Golf Cabriolet, Scirocco, Eos, Passat, Passat Estate, CC, Touareg and Phaeton models.

Bluetooth is already standard here with that stupid touch screen. As usual, we are backward here and we use DAB+ broadcasting for digital radio, the current crop of DAB compatible RCD and RNS units in the EU broadcast DAB-.

Already tried to investigate the switch but alas, to no avail.

That's a bit harsh gavs, DAB+ is a much better/newer standard which uses AAC+ audio compression which sounds pretty good @ 64 and great @ 128Kbit/s. DAB on the other hand uses Mpeg2 (not even mp3) which needs about 256Kbit to sound acceptable. This is a big deal when bandwidth is a premium.

It'd make sense for us to adopt a current standard instead of an outdated one.

I believe the UK is slowly moving to DAB+ now so hopefully we'll finally see it in new cars (MBQ-based headunits better have it)

Yes true, but by the time that the rest of the world makes the switch then it still likely to have been 10 years+ that we have gone without. Still, could be worse, we could have to play catch up like with our broadband network
