Polo MFD showing speed in mph - can I change to kph?

    Hi

Noticed that my MFD is showing the speed in mph, although everything else in the MFD is in kilometres.
Is this something I can change myself or do I need a VCDS/dealer?

    Thanks!

You can do it without VCDS from memory, it is in the setup screen that you can change it, I think there is the option for units from memory...

Could be some speeding tickets coming your way if you've only just noticed

If the miles is between 2 white lines then go to settings on the mdf and make sure alt distance box is unticked or other option is to reset factory settings. It can be done without vcds but not near the car so can't check to tell

Ok - the dumb thing is I couldn't figure out how to get into settings, starting to wonder from forum/google searches whether there are multiple versions of the MFD and I might have the 'dumbed down' version .

Will report back tomorrow, thanks for your help guys .

If its like mine you use the buttons on one of the stalks AFTER READING THE MANUAL.

Mine isnt here atm or would have a look Its the one with the button in the end of it and by various manipulations you can do what you want Its all in the book.

Yes the 77Tsi doesn't have the full MFD like the GTI, it has the more basic one. So you would need to do some sort of procedure in the manual

Ya thx - I've read the manual and had worked out how to turn it on/off but not to change the units. Sorry for the inane question, I'm the worst engineer ever when it comes to simple electronic things.

I tried to do it but mine wont change I think you have to get the dealer to do it on the ones without steering wheel controls.

Can do all of it in the Passat but not the Polo

Which mph reading is it as there are two ways of showing the speed in the digital display.

There is the one in the top centre which should read in KPH in AU There is also the SECOND SPEED DISPLAY which is in the bottom r/h corner where you can change between that and distance traveled.
How you change that is on page 19 first column of the manual.

If its the large one top centre I think a visit to the dealer is required as I have been unable to alter mine after half an hour of trying.
