+1. 7months and the missus has only been allowed to drive once.
The Polo GTI is VW's answer to the Falcon. Great when it works. I had a 1994 model, then a 2004 model. Torquey limo cruiser. Like a travelling comfy lounge chair (handled like one too) and at that point in my life they suited my needs perfectly. That is when the brakes worked, electrical components worked and plastic bits werent broken. XT 4 speed was replaced in 2008 im pretty sure.
Spent a few hundred kays in a 90tsi MkVII and an Up! last weekend. Polo is still best of breed IMO. CD player in glovebox of the golf = stupid + not a fan of bluemotion auto start/stop. Up is probably great value for the money but cant get past the 3 cylinder engine is HORRENDOUSLY out of balance and the massive flywheel they must be using to try and dull the vibration just makes thing reluctant to rev on the way up and stop revving on the way down. Staying with my polo until I find a briefcase containing scirocco money.
Who uses the CD player these days?

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
Errr I do. Putting everything on USB sticks would save a lot of glove box space!
Yeah its pretty dumb. They put all the anti crash three letter acronym things in it possible and then put the cd player in the glove box... the eject button is even on the left hand side of the CD player. I guess most of the target audience will be more hi tech than me.
They could have put the stacker in the boot...

Why not use it to hold things? Plenty of these going around at the moment
What's that? Stackers... the most useless invention ever. How to play the same 6 cds for the life of a vehicle
Quite a few new cars are appearing without a CD player. They are redundant with aux in or bluetooth streaming. Not to mention Pandora etc available in Holdens for internet music streaming. That's why I think DAB+ is a dead duck in Australia.
